The team will be launched on Wednesday, June 17 at Alexandra Oval in Ararat.
Organisers are on the hunt for volunteers to fill key positions within the team specifically a head coach, team manager and trainer.
Local clubs are also being asked to consider supporting the team through the provision of expertise and equipment.
The concept originated from Rural Access, and is being strongly supported by Pinnacle, Grampians Community Health, SportsCentral, Wimmera Sports Assembly, Ararat Rural City Council and Northern Grampians Shire Council.
The team will cater for both males and females and aims to promote participation and social connectedness for players who may not have the opportunity otherwise.
The team will compete against All Abilities teams from Horsham, Ballarat, and Warrnambool.
Members from Rural Access, SportsCentral, Wimmera Sports Assembly, Northern Grampians Shire and Ararat Rural City Council will be visiting various organisations throughout May to encourage interest for the new outfit.
There will also be a competition to name the team and design the playing strip, which will be announced on the launch day.
If you would like to volunteer for the All Abilities football team, or have any further queries, you can call Ararat Rural City Council Recreation and Development officer Matthew Simpson on 5355 0256.
