THE latest round of the Ararat City Tennis Club's Wednesday night competition produced a number of exciting results including the match between Fisher's IGA and Graeme McKay Earthworks which went down to the wire.

The two teams couldn't be separated at the end of the night locked at 32 games apiece with GME narrowly taking the points with a three set to two advantage.
Fisher's IGA started the night in fine fashion, claiming the first two sets with Andy Kalluri in excellent touch.
Andy Tucker led his team's revival with a strong 7-5 victory in the third match up of the night which saw GME take out three of the next four sets to orchestrate the win.
The other intriguing battle was between McDonalds and Ricky Ralph Painting which saw the latter side claim the night despite winning one set less than McDonalds.
Big wins from Genevieve Bush, first with Wayne Jerram (7-3) and then Keenan Hurst (5-2) was enough to ensure Ricky Ralph was in front on the scoresheet after six sets 2-30 to 3-29.
Mike Connellan had another great night for McDonalds showcasing his glorious top-spin backhand, which many have called the best in the competition, as well as his strong drives.
Little separated the night's other two matches with First National defeating Carey Covers 2-30 to 1-27.
Chris Hartwich led the way for the victors with two big set wins.
In the final contest it was J Ward that snuck home for the win by nabbing the final set of the night to down Ararat RSL 2-35 to 1-32.
Andy Marx was the standout with a good balance of power strokes and well placed lobs.
