Mr Walmsley joined the Ararat Lions Club in August 2008 and during that time he has assisted in numerous Lions services including meals on wheels, barbecues around town and the Lions mints to name a few.
Mr Walmsley is also a member of Ararat Rural Landcare, Ararat Field naturalists, mentors at Ararat North PS, assists at Ararat Uniting Church and as a driver of the community car at Ararat Hospital.
The night also saw David Lowing presented with the Melvin Jones Award, one of the highest recognitions for a Lions Club member.
The dinner culminated with the changeover of office bearers, with Bob Sanders once again returning as president.
Annette Metcalfe has taken over the role of secretary from Alan Wall, who held the role for nine terms.
Returning for his seventh term as treasurer is Gerard Kelly.
