It was a smashing performance from Alex Drosg and Andy Ives in set four, followed by another comprehensive performance from Andy Tucker and Ives in the fifth set that guaranteed the eight game result.
For Ricky Ralph Painting hard fought wins from Wayne Jerram in two of his sets and a drawn result in the third provided a highlight.
Just four games separated First National and Embroidability at the end of their clash, however four set wins from the latter ensured it took home the win.
Nigel Christie and Mick Verdon set the scene with their 9-3 victory in the first.
Locked on two sets each and with just one game between the two teams prior to the fifth set, Embroidability's Gracyn Dowling and Simon Fennell stepped forward to help the team collect wins in the final two sets.
Molloy Bros was too good for Fisher's IGA in their clash last Wednesday.
Despite Fisher's Sam Gason and Ben Hartwich producing a clear 9-2 result in their favour in the third set it was all Molloy Bros from that point on, the team of Al Wills, Simon Barr, Paul Brennan and Will Flamstead shining on the top court.
In the final battle of the night J Ward returned from the bye to show Watson Auto Repairs a week off was of no detriment to its ability to win.
Big wins from Jim Zwar in the three sets he partnered helped J Ward to secure the three sets to one, 47 to 25 games win.
With just four rounds remaining J Ward (20) is two points clear of nearest rivals Carey Covers and Ricky Ralph Painting which are both locked on 18 points.
Tomorrow night Ararat RSL returns from back-to-back byes to take on Embroidability. Carey Covers and McDonalds also return from a week's break.
