From his silver medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games to multiple World Championships, Commonwealth Games gold, top world rankings and awards both in Australia and internationally, Mr Kelly has had an impressive career in competitive international cycling. At the conclusion of the Beijing Olympics in 2008, he announced his retirement from international competition.
East Grampians Health Service chief executive Nick Bush said he was delighted that Mr Kelly has accepted the invitation.
"It will be excellent for the community to listen to Shane and his experiences as an elite athlete as the community of Ararat focuses on improving its health service future. Shane was also born at the Ararat Hospital," he said.
All are welcome to attend and join Shane Kelly at this year's East Grampians Health Service annual general meeting. For further information please contact Glenys Andrew on 5352 9303.
