Young leaders recognised at Stawell Secondary College assembly
STUDENTS at Stawell Secondary College were recognised for stepping into leadership roles this year during a special assembly held recently.

The assembly was emceed by school captains Sienna Santuccione and Chloe Formosa, who spoke confidently as students were acknowledged for their commitment to representing their peers and contributing to school life.
Principal Murray Hart told the assembly that student leadership played a vital role in shaping the culture of the college.
“Student leadership plays an important role in building a positive, inclusive, and engaged school community at Stawell Secondary College,” Mr Hart said.
“Through leadership opportunities, students develop confidence, responsibility, and a strong sense of agency, while supporting positive behaviour, wellbeing, and school pride.”
Mr Hart said all student leaders would work closely with staff and leadership throughout the year.
“All student leaders will work alongside the Principal, the School Leadership team, and staff to ensure students are provided with the best opportunities to achieve their full potential,” he said.
House leaders for 2026 were also announced, with captains and vice captains named ahead of today’s swimming carnival. The college also introduced its bus captains for 2026, recognising students who will play an important role in supporting the safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour of students travelling on school bus routes that serve a wide area of the district.
In congratulating the students, the school said the appointments reflected the importance it places on shared leadership and positive role modelling.
“Stawell Secondary College community congratulates our 2026 Student Leaders and thanks them for their commitment to representing their peers and modelling our school values,” Mr Hart said.
