Warriors netballers eye second win
The Stawell Warriors A-grade netballers will use the knowledge they have gained against stronger teams in recent weeks and aim to get their second win of the season when they host the Warrack Eagles at Central Park tomorrow in round nine of the Wimmera Football Netball League.
The Eagles are a young team and have improved in 2025. The Warriors, fresh off a two-week break are ready to fire according to coach Jemma Clarkson.
“The break was much needed as we had several injuries crop up before that and it was nice to rest the girls and have time to regroup,” Clarkson said.
“Sophie Dyer is the only player who may not play, and everyone else is ready to go.
“Any game is tough at the moment, and every team has the potential to pull a game out and win against anyone else so we will be wanting to win this one and hopefully it propels us to win a few more games in the second half of the season.”
“The Eagles had a turnover with new players which is good, and they have good juniors coming through their ranks and we need to have our wits about us making sure that we are on from the first whistle,” Clarkson said.
“The game against Dimboola we played well as a unit, and everyone played their part on the court. Going into this week the focus needs to be that everyone who is on court needs to know their role and what is expected of them and be accountable for their player.
“We didn’t get caught up in the other team's play in our last match and played our own game and took our time with the ball and worked it in and created space and we can take confidence knowing we could play our game.”
