Warrayatkin Road gets a makeover
ARARAT Rural City Council has carried out important upgrade works on an important connector road.

Warrayatkin Road, between the Western Highway and Warrak Road, was resealed last week using the innovative sealing technology, Otta.
Developed in Norway, Otta seal is a bituminous road sealant that significantly reduces the need for continuous maintenance compared to other conventional road sealing methods.
This quick resurfacing technique, often completed in just hours, offers substantial dust reduction, leading to improved health outcomes by minimising fine particle exposure and improving visibility for road users.
Several other key roads around the municipality have undergone renewal works using Otta seal, including Young, Thomas and Elizabeth Streets in Ararat, Mulcahy Road, Andrews Lane, Moyston Dunkeld Road and several roads in the Moyston township.
This project is part of the Urban to Gravel Roads initiative under Council’s Capital Works Program, which specifically targets the upgrade of urban gravel roads.
“This upgrade to Warrayatkin Road will ensure a smoother, safer, and significantly less dusty road,” said Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison.
“Otta seal offers a quick turnaround, minimising disruption for our community, particularly for those who rely on these rural routes, and delivers immediate benefits. This upgrade project demonstrates Council’s forward-thinking approach to infrastructure management.”
