Vintage rally returns
Vintage machinery, classic vehicles and hobby displays are on show across this weekend at the Stawell Harness Racing Club. The popular Stawell Tractor, Engine and Hobby Rally is back for another year and organisers say it won't disappoint.

Held each March, the event draws enthusiasts from across the region who share an interest in restoring, collecting and preserving historic machinery and mechanical heritage.
Visitors can expect a wide range of displays across the weekend, including vintage tractors, stationary engines, trucks, motorcycles and classic cars, alongside collectables, antiques, hobby exhibits and arts and crafts.
The rally’s 2026 theme is Fordson tractors and lighting plants, highlighting some of the early machines that helped power farms and rural communities.
Alongside the displays, a swap meet and trash-and-treasure area will offer opportunities for collectors and hobbyists to buy, sell and trade parts, tools and memorabilia. Organisers say the rally has long served as a meeting point for people interested in vintage machinery, with many exhibitors bringing carefully restored equipment to share with the public.
The event will be held at the Stawell Harness Racing Club, 78 Patrick Street, with gates open from 10am to 5pm today (Saturday) and from 10am to 2pm tomorrow (Sunday).
With a mix of machinery, displays and markets, the rally promises a weekend of nostalgia and hands-on interest for collectors, families and anyone curious about the machines that helped shape rural life.
