Vegie Patch readying for spring time

AS the days lengthen and the chill in the air lessens, gardeners are getting their mojo back and enjoying the warmer weather.

Members of Beaufort’s Vegie Patch are amongst those getting ready for the spring with their monthly “shared gardening” session last weekend where they caught up with weeding, cleaning up and preparing beds for spring planting.

The camaraderie is so positive at the gatherings as experienced gardeners share their knowledge with newer members seeking guidance.

For new residents, this is a great way to meet new people, a wonderful opportunity to grow your own vegetables, share gardening tips and produce, enjoy a social morning gardening together and have access to tools, seed bank and so much more.

The Vegie Patch, located at the rear of the Beaufort RSL in Willoby Street currently has garden plots available.

If you are interested in being a part of this fun community group, call 0419 305 027 for more information.  Costs are $20 per annum with a $10 bond.
