Veeda recognised as a top gardener
MEMBERS of the local Ararat Gardening Club gathered for their Annual General Meeting recently, reflecting on a busy year that included the club’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Dawn Emerson Memorial Trophy for the Flower Competition, which was won by Veeda Pearse with a clear margin. Joan Studd was named runner-up.
President Lesley Sladdin outlined the club’s activities over the past twelve months and thanked members for their ongoing passion for gardening and sharing advice and ideas with others.
Guest speaker Linda Heard officiated over the election of office bearers, with all committee positions filled for the coming year.
The newly elected committee includes Lesley Sladdin as President, Lyndee Bond as Treasurer, and Joan Studd as Secretary.
The Garden Club meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 6pm at the Ararat Senior Citizens Club Rooms.
New members are always welcome.
