Brigades from across the state will march down Main Street from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, in a display of history, discipline and community spirit.

The procession, a highlight of the championships, brings together firefighters from across Victoria. Crews march in formation, carrying lit torches through the heart of town — a striking tribute to generations of volunteer service.

For many, the event is as much about connection as it is ceremony — a chance for local brigades and visiting crews to come together, while the community lines the street in support.

The torchlight procession forms part of a broader weekend of competition, with the championships returning to Stawell’s North Park Recreation Reserve for the first time in 20 years.

For many in Stawell, tonight's procession will be the defining moment — a tradition that transforms the town centre and reflects the role volunteers play in protecting communities across the state.
