The Magpies finished the 2021 Mininera and District Football League season in 11th position with one win from 11 matches.
Trevaskis started his footballing journey at St Mary's FNC in the GFL; he then had stints with Birregurra FNC and East Geelong FNC before joining Wickliffe-Lake Bolac in December 2021.
The appointment came about after a text from a former East Geelong teammate.
"It came about through Chris Hilet, I played a bit of footy with him at East Geelong and he sent me a message after the footy season,"
"It progressed from there. I had a chat with Angus Gilmore (club president) and Dave Keating (football operations manager).
"We met at the end of November and it was announced pretty shortly after."
MORE NEWS:
Trevaskis said he is looking forward to the challenge of turning the club around.
"I can't wait to get started," he said.
"It is an exciting place to be walking into.
"I didn't know much about the club at first; since then, it feels like every second person I speak to has a connection to the club.
"It has been quite refreshing and reassuring to know there are a lot of connections down there."
Trevaskis said the club would increase its training load in the coming weeks.
"There are guys who will be coming from all around the joint, Geelong, Ballarat, Mortlake, Warrnambool and Bolac itself," he said.
"In terms of pre-season, it has sort of been a bit virtual so far.
"Late January we will really ramp things up and start to get together and make sure we are ready to go by round one."
Trevaskis said the club is aiming to be more competitive in season 2022.
"I am really confident that we will be much more competitive than last year and surprise a few teams," he said.
"We want to turn the club around pretty quickly and become hard to play against, once you become hard to play against the results turn around pretty quickly."
MORE NEWS:
"There are a few guys that are keen to jump on board and come down which will be great for us, which will help."
Wickliffe-Lake Bolac president Angus Gilmore said the club is "very excited" to have Trevaskis come to the club.
"He comes highly recommended from his previous teammates down in east Geelong," he said.
"We are looking forward to seeing how he goes."
Gilmore said he is hopeful Trevaskis can create a stronger relationship with the Geelong area.
"We are looking forward to reconnecting with the Geelong area, which has been a long term draw for players for us over the years.
"We feel Sean (Trevaskis) is the right bloke to not only attract players to our club but keep them here for an extended amount of time."
