Amanda North, 29, appeared at Ararat Magistrates' Court on Friday, and pleaded guilty to multiple charges including assault and driving while disqualified.
The court heard North, who was living in Ararat at the time, had an ongoing disagreement with another mother following an incident at an Ararat kindergarten.
At 1pm on May 10, 2020, the two women had encountered one another at the counter in IGA Ararat, which escalated into an argument.
IGA employees who witnessed the incident told police North had said "you are lucky you have your kid in your arms, you are a dead dog," among other insults.

The woman left the supermarket, with the store manager speaking to North to assist the situation.
About 2.15pm on the same day, the woman, along with other friends, attended North's parents address and began yelling at the front of the property.
North arrived at the house about 2.45pm and immediately began fighting with the woman.
The court was told the two women fell to the ground, after which North began punching the woman several times in the head, before standing up and kicking her, knocking her unconscious.
Another scuffle broke out between North and the woman's friend, which was broken up by nearby family members.
At 2.50pm, North self-presented to the Ararat Police Station with injuries to her foot. She was placed under arrest.
Magistrate Ronald Saines did not impose a term of imprisonment but reprimanded North for the significance of her offending.
"Ms North, your counsel is correct to focus on whether imprisonment should be imposed. This is public violence that occurred not long after you were sentenced in Stawell for unlawful assault," Mr Saines said.
"It is nevertheless significant that you hit, punch and kick a person in the street over any sort of dispute.
"It appears to me that a term of imprisonment should not be imposed here. What you need to think about are the choices you make."
North was sentenced to a community corrections order pending assessment and had her driver's licence further disqualified.
