Visitors are invited to picnic in the National Trust listed property grounds, on Sunday December 5, between 10-5pm.
Historic tours of the estate will be conducted throughout the day, by the current owner Kate Tol.

Visitors will learn of the property's significant history, with stories of early settlement, its various owners, architectural features and the various activities and garden projects undertaken by the current owners.
The event encourages visitors to arrange a social gathering with friends, family, or work colleagues.
Guests are encouraged to bring a rug and picnic hamper to enjoy within the grounds of Mount Mitchell Estate.
Small marquees and seating will be scattered throughout the various garden spaces. Garden games and Devonshire teas (scones, jam, coffee/tea) will be available for guests to enjoy throughout the day.

The significant bluestone homestead built in 1861 is the centerpiece of the estate (the homestead is not open to the public, as it is a private residence).
Numerous historic outbuildings, including a gorgeous bluestone cottage, a schoolhouse, gardener cottage and impressive stable building, are scattered throughout the estate.
Visitors have the ability to explore 10 acres of garden rooms, which include extensive lawns, established hedging, the newly constructed swimming pool space, extensive orchard, formal rose, and kitchen gardens.
Tickets are $15, with children 12 years and under free.
