The Ararat Hill Climb 'King of the Hill' is set to be held at One Tree Hill on Sunday November 28, for the first time since November 2019.

The climb is the most challenging event on the VHCC circuit and is the longest and steepest hill climb in Victoria.
Ararat Car Club's Chris Harwood hopes the event "will run smoothly."
"It will be a great event, fingers crossed it all goes to plan," he said.

"With all of the COVID-19 lockdowns we haven't been able to run a hill climb in Ararat since November 2019.
"It has been a little bit of time between drinks.
"The climb is a great place to test your skills."
The entry list for the hill climb is filling up, only days away from the event.
"There are quite a few names who have signed up," Mr Harwood said.
"There are a lot of people who are itching to go, not even just the locals."

Harwood said he expected participants from far and wide to attend.
"We get competitors from all over the state, including South Australia," he said.
"S.A just opened up the borders today so we will be getting a few South Australian's over.
"Since the lockdown has ruined everyone's pass times we have really got a lot of entries
"We get people from all over Victoria and they are all itching to have a go on the classic hill."

The Ararat Car Club have been hard at work to ensure the safety for the event is up to standard.
"Because it is the fastest and the steepest hill climb in Victoria we have upgraded the safety on the hill," Mr Harwood said.
"We have invested over $80,000 into safety rails and we have another $50,000 that we are spending in the next two to three months on safety.
"There are a lot of things that we will make sure are done properly.
"We have put a lot of temporary stuff in place so we have to make sure that is all in place."
