The announcement was made in a statement on the Ararat Basketball Association social media page, only two weeks away from the commencement of the season.
"It is with regret and in agreeance with our coach Rhys (Burger) and the interested players, that our team is not equipped enough to get a start this CBL 21/22 season," the statement read.
"The numbers have been minimal at training, and lack of commitment minimal.
"We share Rhys' sadness and fully support this decision, and have found it necessary to withdraw out of the 2021/2022 CBL season."

Due to the withdrawal the Redbacks have given up their chance to defend their crown, after defeating Portland Coasters in last season's grand final to become 2020-21 CBL south west champions.
Club stalwart Rhys Burger was due to take the reins as head coach this year, taking over from Marcus Jenkins, who he had plied his craft under as an assistant coach since the 2019 season.
The Ararat Advertiser has contact both Burger and Ararat Basketball Association president Casanda Woods for comment.
