Seniors is a magic age where the freedom to go when you like and where you like arrives. The Wimmera Mail Times Seniors 2021 magazine gives you a chance to explore more possibilities than you ever imagined for this stage of your life.
Do you fancy learning a new pastime, or tickling up your knowledge of what the options are for your aging parents, or just need some inspiration from like-minded folk in our community? You've come to the right place.

Then there's the chance to look at what lifestyle suits you best. You might prefer to keep working, or simply sit on the couch forever, but the insights into why you want to is a revealing process.
As we baby boomers grow old disgracefully, it's encouraging to read about how others change direction and lifestyle, and how their worlds open up.
Enjoy the read.

People entering retirement are seeing this as a time to do and learn things they didn't have time for previously.

Horsham U3A publishes a newsletter and a monthly timetable (also available on the website). Programs and activities are structured to meet the wishes of members, who share their time, knowledge and skills on a voluntary basis.

It always bears repeating... we need to stay a step ahead of scammers.
SCAMMERS never sleep... and they never stop devising new ways to relieve you of your hard earned cash and/or your personal details.
One of the latest is a text message claiming to be about COVID-19 symptoms and details about when to
get tested in your geographical area. The recipient is encouraged to click on a link for more information.
While it claims to have been sent from the government, it's just one of many COVID-19 scams designed to

glean personal information, such as passwords and financial details, from its targets.
Since the start of the pandemic in March last year, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission
has received more than 5000 scam reports mentioning the coronavirus with over $6 million in reported losses.
So, be wary of messages that appear to be from official organisations such as the World Health Organisation
and the Department of Health or legitimate businesses such as travel agents and telecommunications companies.
The Australian Cyber Security Centre says if you receive one of these messages, you should delete it and not click the link.

I love the writing game. It gets me bouncing out of bed, and dragging my feet at night when I have to finish up for the day. I started at The Bendigo Advertiser as the Creative Services Coordinator, and after many changes, I have ended up with a great 12 years with ACM (love that long service leave too as my secret gardens need tending sometimes). Working from home is tops and I hope I have many more productive times ahead.
