East Grampians Health Services interim chief executive Peter Armstrong made the announcement late afternoon on Sunday, October 3.
Mr Armstrong announced the three cases in the Ararat area are linked and one is a new case under investigation.
But Mr Armstrong said the community has response well by stepping up to get tested, there were 850 tests since Friday morning.
"We're still waiting for the results from that," he said.
Mr Armstrong said he encouraged people from the exposure sites or with any symptoms to get tested.
EARLIER, 12pm:
DURING the Victorian premier's press conference on Sunday, October 3, COVID-19 Commander Jeroen Weimar announced that Ararat now has four positive COVID-19 cases.
Mr Weimer announced that there as 52 new cases in regional areas, including the four now in Ararat which he said was connected to Ararat Meat Exports.
Mr Weimer also said there were four cases in Ballarat.
