An Ararat police spokesperson said officers intercepted the 60-year-old driver on Lowe at 2am.
"Following a positive roadside breath test, the driver came back to the Ararat Police station where he returned a (blood alcohol concentration) reading of 0.312.

Police impounded the man's vehicle for the mandatory 30 days at the cost of $1115.
