Both vote counts were scheduled to be held online and privately streamed this week, however because of the inability to gather and film them they have been put on ice for the time being.

At this stage, the current regional Victorian lockdown is due to end on Thursday, September 2 at 11:59 pm. If it does conclude then the WFNL and HDFNL senior presentations could still go ahead on their original dates of September 10 and September 6.

"We'll wait and see how we go with the senior ones," AFL Wimmera-Mallee Manager Jason Muldoon said.

At the weekend, the WFNL was scheduled to hold its last round of the regular season while the HDFNL was due to play its first round of the finals series.

Both boards have met this week to discuss options for the rest of the season.

"The Wimmera met Saturday night and put out some options to have a look at and they'll go back to their clubs with those options," Muldoon said.

"It really does hinge on when we get out of this lockdown and that's all the options are focusing on.

"If we get out on the second, I think it's probably unrealistic to say that we could play on the Saturday. We'd use that week as a training week and best case scenario I think is to get back out on the court and the field on the 11th.

"And then obviously what the finals series looks like then, that's what they're all discussing at the moment whether it's a continue as is and then push a little into October. All the options are on the table."

The HDFNL board were set to meet on Monday night to discuss their finals series, the outcome unknown at time of publishing.

Ahead of the meeting, HDFNL chairman Fred Mellington said the league "would look at all possibilities but again it depends on when we come out of lockdown".

"We've got options on the table to discuss tonight (Monday)," Mellington said.

"We will try and put some options out there, it's just that the most gut-wrenching part of it all is that sometimes you put an option out that becomes out-of-date by the time you've put it out there.

"I sent an email to the board on Saturday, by the time I'd pressed send it was out of date."
