The league board met on Tuesday night to determine the season's remaining fixture, deciding to abandon round 13 and 14 games, while the rest of the fixtures dates remain unchanged.
WFNL acting-chair Ang Ballinger said the decision was made after consulting with the league's club presidents during the board's meeting.
"We consulted directly with the club presidents and we are all on the same mind that we will play this weekend with no spectators.
"We will launch back into our draw, as it's described, meaning we'll play round 15 (on the July 31)."
Ballinger said it was important the clubs' were a part of the decision making process when it came to the fixture.
"The league adopts a very consultative stance, more so than ever this year. The environment we're in is completely unprecedented. We don't want to become too over-arching in our stances."
Ballinger said the league believes games won't have spectators for at least another two weeks, in compliance with likely Victorian Government restrictions, meaning another financial hit for the league.
"Everyone understands while (no spectators) is not ideal, this is what our season looks like and everybody's keen to get going."
"Hopefully we can proceed further into the fixture with no interruptions, but if we do have further interruptions we will just have to deal with it."
Ballinger said that the league had already made applications to hold COVID-safe events for the finals series.
The fixture for the finals series remains unchanged.
