Nonetheless, that team won't be able to sit back and admire their work, as the team just behind them in second spot is an attacking powerhouse.

With the end of the season up in the air, the top-five is almost locked in, but its the final make-up that is anyone's guess.

The Ararat Advertiser has compiled a club-by-club report card to ensure you're caught up with your club's netball season so far.

Won 9, lost 0, 44 points, 134.93%

The undefeated Giants haven't put a foot wrong all season and are deservedly heavy premiership favourites.

Defence led by Brylee Schache is the side's strong point, while their attack headlined by Zali Brown and Steph Thomson is a force to be reckoned with.

The side's upcoming match with the second-placed Horsham Demons should be their biggest test of the year and if they get over them the minor premiership is theirs.

While the Demons and Eagles might push them, you'd be a brave person to bet against the Giants not walking away with the premiership cup this year.

Won 8, lost 2, 36 points, 169.14%

Since the return of star-shooter Emma Buwalda in round nine, the Demons have won four-on-the-trot by an average winning margin of 31.5 points.

Buwalda has been in spectacular shooting form and has been aided on the court by the likes of Georgie Carberry, Georgia Hiscock and Jedda Heard.

Their only losses for the season have come at the hands of the Giants and the experienced Eagles.

If the Giants aren't invincible, the Demons seem most likely to knock them off their perch.

Won 6, lost 3, 32 points, 103.59%

A touch of inconsistency has plagued the Roos who have the lowest percentage of the top five teams.

At their best, they have defeated a contender in Warrack by 11-points, but at their worst, they went down to the Demons by 27-points.

Emily Polack has been one of the side's best all year, while Nicole Polycarpou has been lethal under the ring.

Despite a tough run home with matches coming up against three out of the top four, the Roos should have done enough (barring a catastrophe) to make finals.

Any side with a Hatcher Medal Winner is going to be tough to beat. The Eagles have three of them in Megan Werner, Sarah Spicer and Emma Koschitzke.

Similar to the Roos the Eagles have had their ups and downs this year however they do have the honour of coming the closest to beating the Giants. They lost by just four points in their round 11 clash, so watch out if they start to hit their straps come finals time.

With their run home and the quality on their list, you can just about lock them in for finals.

In the remaining finals' position sit the Warriors, who would be higher had they not lost a couple of games they were expected to win.

Nonetheless, the side has had a good season which has seen players like defender Lisa Fleming thrive.

The Warriors are in a good position to make finals and have taken some big scalps this year in Dimboola and Warrack.

With a relatively easy run home, a lot would have to go wrong for them to miss finals.

4 wins, 5 losses, 24 points, 89.78%

The young Saints have shown glimpses of their potential this year coming within nine points of the Giants in round eight, as well as a win over Stawell the following round.

The difference between their best and worse however has been a little too much.

Young gun Abby Hallam has been a standout for her side in attack.

Sitting two wins behind the Warriors in fifth, the Saints are the only team outside the five who could make the finals, however that seems unlikely with the ladder the way it is.

In a fall from grace, a new-look/rebuilding Burras' side has struggled to reach the heights of its 2019 premiership-winning side.

After notching their first win of the season in round nine, however, the side did manage to string some good performances together, including another win in round 11 against Ararat.

Georgia McLennan, who played in the 2019 premiership side, has been impressive in attack week-in-week-out.

If the side can beat Nhill in its final game and remain competitive in its other matches, it will hold them in good stead for 2022.

3 wins, 7 losses, 16 points, 85.92%

After making the semi-finals in 2019 the Rats have dropped off this year, with only three wins so far.

Still the side has a lot of upside evidenced by a 20-point win over Stawell in round ten after pushing the Giants the week prior.

Attack has been a strong suit for the Rats, led by Delaney McLoughlan who is having a superb season under the ring.

Games to come against Nhill and the Saints are very winnable for the Rats and will and could push them up the ladder.

0 wins, 10 losses, 4 points, 53.48%

A tough year for Nhill who remain winless at this point of the season.

There is plenty of room for improvement and the good news for the Tigers is that the only way is up.

A highlight of their season would no doubt be their round five clash with the Giants where they only went down by 11 points.

Young Jenna Schneider has been a standout for the side and could be an important part of their side for years to come.

If they can snag a win against Ararat or the Burras it will no doubt do their confidence a world of good going into next season.
