A planning permit for a dwelling, a series of sheds and a market garden in Buangor has been approved by the Ararat Rural City Council.

The planning permit was submitted in April 2021, with the Council approving the plans on July 14.
The approved site is on Crown Allotments 23, 24 and 24A Buangor Road, Buangor, where it will be used and developed into a market garden with both open gardens and in igloos and farm box sales.
As shown on the site plan, which was submitted as part of the planning application, the 2.74 acre block will have three distinctive elements.

In the centre of the property is a two-bedroom dwelling, with a large shed positioned further towards the rear of the block.
On the front half of the block, the area allocated for the planned market garden which faces Buangor Road.
To create the market garden there will be a two small garden sheds, two hoop style movable grow tunnels and a 20,000 litre dam.
OTHER NEWS:
In developing the site, the main elements of the market garden will be built first, followed by the dwelling and shed, before the dam and garden sheds are established to complete the site.
The planning permit was submitted by planner John Lovelock on behalf of the applicant Kim Cox.
As listed on the application form, the estimated cost of development for which the permit is required is $7000.
