Ararat's junior footballers will take to the field to represent the region when in the annual Turner Tuckey Challenge on Friday, July 9.

The challenge is named after former Richmond and Ararat player Scott Turner and former Stawell and Collingwood player Brent Tuckey.
The upper-aged players from Ararat and District Junior Football Association face those from the Stawell 13 and Under Football Association.

The occasion will be particularly special for Ararat's youngsters, as Scott Turner will be coaching the side.
Ararat and District Junior Football Association president Shane Jenkins said it was a fantastic opportunity for the players.
"Scotty Turner is one of the greatest footballers to come out of the Ararat area and all the kids look up to him," he said.
"To be coached by someone who has played the sort of football that Scotty Turner has is great for the kids. They really look forward to it."
Brent Tuckey will similarly be coaching the Stawell side.
Stawell 13 and Under Football Association president Andrew Dunn said the players were excited to learn from Tuckey.

"To be coached by someone with experience at such a high level of footy in their time is big event for the kids."
A trophy is awarded for the best player on each team at the end of the game.
The match will be played at 6pm at Central Park.
