Five sporting clubs in Ararat Rural City Council has received grants as part of the state government's Sporting Club Grants Program.

Tatyoon Tennis Club received $755 new junior tennis nets and balls. In contrast, Moyston Willaura Football Netball Club and Ararat Eagles Football Netball Club received $2000 and to help them meet COVID-safe protocol, while Tatyoon Football Netball Club $1988 for the same purpose.

Ararat and District Cycling Club were given $542 to help cover the expenses of the Ararat Junior Tour, 2021, which was held on May 8-9.
Ararat Eagles Football Netball Club also received an additional $1000 to purchase uniforms for their junior football team.
Sporting organisations were also eligible for the grants.
The Mininera and District Football League also received $2771 for cleaning, sanitising and signage.

Labor Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford announced the successful applicants and said the grants would help make sports more accessible to people.
"The Sporting Club Grants Program is giving grassroots sports clubs in our local communities the support they need to grow their ranks and help more people than ever play the sports they love," she said.
