In the MCDFNL seniors the crowd was treated to a strong contest between Navarre and Avoca in their round three clash, with the Grasshoppers keen to join their A Grade counterparts on the winners list.

Navarre held slender leads through the first and second breaks, but by three-quarter time they led by only one point.
Navarre came out in the last quarter with three goals, while keeping Avoca to only two points.
It was a disciplined effort leading to a 19 point win, Navarre's first of the year.
Josh Fowkes was dominant in the ruck, while Billy Parry, Ricky Cummins and Leetyn McKenzie were solid contributors.

Navarre also headed to Avoca last Saturday with their Under-11 footballers looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
A strong Bulldogs outfit however had other ideas, handing the young Grasshoppers their first loss of the season to the tune of 41 points.
Jack and Ryder Sullivan worked hard for Navarre, along with Morgan Greenaway and Kenna Lorusso.
Navarre's Under-14's bounced back from their previous round defeat, easily accounting for their Avoca opponents for a 47 point victory.
A consistent effort was the order of the day, with Jacob Martin, Dion Flanagan, Bradley Carter and Patrick Nellthorp standouts.
Navarre's Under-17 side continue to show improvement, however they were outclassed by a strong Bulldogs unit.

Not to be discouraged by a heavy loss, Jordan Barnett, Madix Perry, Anthony Davie and Kade Scott battled hard all day.
Navarre's reserve side also turned out an improved showing.
Never far off the pace, Avoca eventually pulled away for a 46 point win, despite the best efforts of Justin Lee, Kell Bibby and Nic Baird.
This round the grasshoppers welcome Natte Bealiba to Navarre, where the seniors will do battle for the traditional Ross-Hannett Shield.
Meanwhile in the A Grade netball came up short against a very talented Avoca line-up, going down 37-63.
"Hard fought game by the team with lots of pressure from Avoca. Very strong second half after a slow start," the club said.
"There was some changes in positions that were very well adapted too."
Bonnie Weir and Sadie Reading were some of the Grasshoppers best on the day.
In the juniors the Under-11's scored a close win, 5-4, while the Under 17's played out nail-biting 17-all draw.
