Excitement is building at the Grampians Giants as players prepare for their 2021 season in the FIDA Western Country Conference.
The team has been training together during April and is looking forward to their first match on Sunday May 2 against the Wimmera Whippets at North Park.
The team trains from 4:30pm on Fridays and alternates between training at Alexandra Oval, Ararat and North Park, Stawell.
Grampians Giants team manager Nic Baird said the side has good numbers, but more players are welcome for the 2021 season.
"Our numbers aren't too bad, we have about 18 or 19 which means we are going along pretty well," he said.
"The competition isn't about winning it is about participation, having fun getting out there, running around and learning new skills.
"People can learn new footy skills, but also social skills, improve their fitness and make some new friends too.
"We have definitely seen improved social skills.
"No one every misses out and so it is good value for everyone involved."
The Grampians Giants will be one of four teams in the FIDA Western Country Conference with five games to be played in the season, before a finals day later in the year.
Training will be in Ararat from 4:30pm on Friday April 23, with anyone who is interested in joining encouraged to contact Mr Baird on 03 5382 4599, email on email@example.com or message the Grampians Giants Facebook page.
