Ararat Storm Female Football Club is ready to begin its 2021 season as it enters the Western Victoria Female Football League for the first time.

The team plays its first match on Richardson Oval against South Warrnambool Roosters on Sunday, April 18, with the first bounce at 12.30pm.
Senior team coach Beck Phillips said the match would gauge the team's standing in the new division.
"We'll see how we go. After the first round there will probably be a few little changes that we make," she said.

"We'll get to see how this league runs and what the competition is like and go from there."
Phillips said she was pleased with how the team was coming together and thought they would be solid in the middle of the park.
"In midfield, we've got a really good bunch of girls who have got a lot of experience," she said.
"Lilly Molloy will be our ruck. She's got a lot of good knowledge, originating from Ararat but also playing up in Melbourne, so she'll be able to bring that knowledge and skills to the girls."

The Storm recently named Chelsea Wilson as captain, along with Catherine Turnbull and Lilly Molloy as vice-captains.
Phillips said the team was fortunate to have leaders of their calibre.
"We've got a really good leadership group to carry the team," she said.
The Storm was unable to register sufficient numbers to field an Under 18 team.
Phillips said the club was eager to the players from the team "as involved as we possibly can," both on and off the field.
The club is also still welcoming new players who want to join.
