The CFA has issued a community information notice for multiple locations following a large haystack fire.

The warning was warning for Avoca, Percydale, Rathscar West, Riversdale, Tanwood after a haystack caught fire on Tuesday afternoon on the Avoca-Bealiba Road, north of the Avoca.
The CFA advised that the haystack fire was not likely to spread into grassland but as they generated large quantities of smoke, nearby residents needed to be aware of the cause at 3.37pm.
Firefighters are currently pulling apart the hay stack to extinguish the fire.

The CFA declared there was no immediate threat to any communities and no action is required.
Large haystacks may spontaneously ignite if they contain wet hay that can heat up under pressure.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
