Tatyoon has regularly come close in the intervening years.
In 2019 the team's season ended after losing the semi-final to Penshurst by just three points. Tatyoon had also reached the grand final in both seasons before this, but lost to Worndoo Mortlake on each occasion.
A Grade coach Zoe Astbury said it is a drought the club is eager to end in the coming seasons.

"It's been a long, long time. My mum was in the last team to win the premiership," she said.
"The hunger and the drive to win that premiership is there because we've been so close the last four or five years and we've worked so hard to get people from all over the state to come to Tatyoon to play."
But Astbury said after 2020 club was tempering expectations and putting more emphasis on enjoyment than results.
"Going into the 2021 season we're just wanting to enjoy netball and play for each other and see what happens along the way. Maybe something special will happen along the way but it's not the be all and end all," she said.
OTHER NEWS:
"It will be good to get back into the sport, to love it, enjoy it, and to have those social Saturday's back again.
"We always put so much pressure on ourselves, and that is where we may have come unstuck in the past.
"When I got offered to coach in 2020 I was very excited and I went pretty crazy on the recruiting. I was trying to get everyone I could, but this year I've just taken a step back because last year made me realise there are more important things."
Astbury said along with some recruits, there were also some people leaving the club.
MORE NEWS:
"We've got a few people who are having babies, or moving away, or have found new jobs, so we're still sought of figuring out what our team's going to look like, and it will probably change over the first few weeks of the season," she said.
Tatyoon will begin their season against 2019 premiers Glenthompson Dunkeld on Saturday, April 17.
