The Northern Grampians Shire Council has cancelled Wednesday's Safer Together community engagement information sessions due to a lack of people registered for the event.

Both the 1pm and 6pm sessions to be conducted on Wednesday, March 17 at the Halls Gap Hall have been cancelled, while those already registered will be contacted individually.
The information sessions were part of the Safer Together funded Halls Gap Community Preparedness and Resilience Project.

The sessions were to be used to as part of a series of capacity building activities to "enhance community emergency preparedness and resilience in Halls Gap at both the residential and business level".
However, the Northern Grampians Shire Council made an announcement on Monday that they would be cancelling the sessions due to "insufficient registration numbers".
"These community information sessions will not be going ahead," a council spokesperson said.

"The sessions are designed to measure community interest and invite feedback.
"Individuals who have registered for these sessions will be contacted directly.
"Those residents who registered will be engaged with individually in the short term as more momentum for the project is gained."
