Impressive bowling was played out with a big day on the cards for day three of the Wimmera region state bowls events.
Men's champion of champions got underway - Minyip's Michael Funcke up against Goroke's Geoff Lowe and St Arnaud's Alan Jackson against Aradale's Gary Jamieson.
Funke and Jackson went head to head in the final where Funke managed to hold a lead and advance to the next stage with a 25-20 result.
In the ladies state pair events it was home town women Kerry West and Angela Hodgetts taking on Betty Cozens and Cheryl McDonald.
OTHER NEWS:
Cozens and McDonald won on the last end by one shot - 16-15.
Isobel Davidson and Edna Anderson bowled against Amy Roberts and Thelma Morosi.
Davidson and Anderson weren't able to stem the consistency of Roberts and Morosi, going down 14-20.
Cozens and McDonald went on to win the final, 21-17 and will now head to Bendigo.
The men's triples semi final saw Dan Mahoney, Mick McGuire and Stan Meale take on Graham Bryan, Merv Dean and Also Leyonjhelm.
On the other rink Graham Walder, Calvin Pendlebury and Rodney Sinclair went up against D Groves, J McKay and M Hall.
Mahoney, McGuire and Meale battled it out against Walder, Pendlebury and Sinclair in the final and the Ararat VRI and Ararat bowlers proved to be too good and came up 19-11 winners.
The final day of bowling will finish on Monday.
