SWIFTS-Great Western has bowled themselves into a handy position after the first day of the Grampians Cricket Assocation A Grade grand final.
On the other foot, Saturday afternoon would be one Buangor-Tatyooon would hope to wipe from their minds immediately.
Buangor-Tatyoon won the toss and elected to send Combine's openers in to bat.
It was a slow slog - Sam Cocks out for 27.
Early, it looked like Phillips could do no wrong as he claimed a further two wickets for Buangor-Tatyoon.
Tom Eckel was the stand out for the visiting team with 49.
Wickets trickled after drinks but the Combine battled away with the bat finishing their 40 overs on 7-151.
It looked to be a bowler's wicket early as Combine's Jamie Bach managed to snare the big wicket of Jarrod Blanford through a catch via Jesse Eckel.
From there - Buangor-Tatyoon weren't able to gather momentum finishing the day 109 runs short.
Wickets were spread evenly between the Combine.
Sunday's match will get underway at 1pm at Central Park.
