Eight graduate registered nurses began working at East Grampians Health Services last month for their Graduate Nurse Programs.

East Grampians Health Services training and development manager Claire Sladdin the new staff members would benefit from a range of experiences during their time with the healthcare provider.
"As part of the Graduate Nurse Program, they will complete a program called 'Care of the Older Person Program' - which provides the new nurses will the opportunity for them to network with graduates from around the Grampians region," she said.

"Throughout their graduate year, they are supported clinically and professionally by the clinical support nurse/educators in the EGHS Education team."
The nurses will also work in a variety of clinical areas, including Inpatient Unit, Urgent Care Centre, 70 Lowe St, Willaura Health Care, Community Nursing and Theatre.
There are also 12 people registered to start their Graduate Nurse Programs later as part of a mid-year intake.
