The vaccine roll-out has bolstered hopes that the pandemic is coming to an end and built confidence after a recent Melbourne outbreak triggered a snap lockdown.
Premier Daniel Andrews on Tuesday told reporters that a fourth consecutive day with no new cases was helping pave the way for another easing of restrictions.
AAP reported that the hopes came despite thousands of people self-isolating as precaution following the Holiday Inn outbreak.
