At approximately 5.35am a 3.1 magnitude earthquake occurred just north of Glenorchy 7 kilometers under the surface.
Just further north, another earthquake of 3.6 magnitude was registered on Friday.
Only seven reports of feeling the earth shake had been reported at 8am.
