A spokesperson from Powercor confirmed crews have restored power to homes and businesses in the Ararat area after a bird caused power outages on Wednesday.
"The bird struck powerlines at 10.18am, causing a number of safety setting to activate on the network, which initially caused outages for 1800 customers," they said.
"Network controllers were able to restore power to about 1600 customers within minutes, before ground crews restored power to the remaining 200 customers at around 12.30pm.
"Customers were kept updated on restoration times via SMS alerts and our website."
UPDATE - 12pm:
Power was restored to most homes in the Ararat region by noon on Wednesday.

EARLIER - 11am:
SOME Ararat and district residents were left without power on Wednesday morning.
Powercor listed an area with covered more than 500 homes were without power in an unplanned outage.
The restoration time was expected to be at 12.30pm.
The source of the outage was unknown.
Temperatures are forecast to reach a top of 34 degrees on Wednesday with the temperature at 10am approximately 20 degrees.
