The Lions Club of Ararat Saturday Sausage Sizzles made its long-awaited return on December 19, with club members and Ararat residents equally glad to reunite.

Club secretary Rosi Sanders said the event was warmly received.
"We had a wonderful response to the community, everyone was welcoming us back and saying they missed us, so it was good," Ms Sanders said.
"Even though the sausages were free, lots of people were giving us donations."

Ms Sanders said as helping the club reconnect with the community, the sausage sizzle also helped the club plan for future fundraisers.
"It was a bit of a trial just to see how we managed, and just a quick little 'thank you' before Christmas," she said.
"It was lovely. It worked out fine.
"We'll have a break over Christmas and probably be back around January 16, and then hopefully we'll be able to continue every Saturday afterward."
The Lions Club of Ararat was forced to hold The Lions Club International 201V2 District Convention via Zoom last month, but with restrictions easing are able to start considering more in-person events.
