ROUND FIVE of the Grampians Bowls Division Saturday pennant was abandoned at the weekend due to a total fire ban being declared for the Wimmera.
In looking ahead to this week's matches, in division one, Landsborough will be at home against Stawell in a match were the visitors should win.
The Landsborough team can be very competitive on their day and will be hoping for a close match.
Stawell Golf will take the long trip down to Lake Bolac and will need to be on top of their game to get the win on the slow newly laid Bolac green.
If Lake Bolac are going to put itself in a position to push for a top four spot this is one of the matches it needs to win.
In the match of the round Chally will be at home against Aradale and with a bit of nice weather the two sides will be keen to play well on the grass green.
Both sides on their day are tough competitors and a top match is expected. In the last match VRI at home should be too strong for Ararat, a win will see VRI push into the top four depending on other results.
In division two, Stawell will be at home against the top Bolac Side Red in a match that will be very close.
Stawell have struggled away from home but are tough to roll at home.
Stawell Gold will host the other Bolac side Black in another match that looks the same as the first match.
Golf will be keen to upset the Bolac black side and move into the top four.
In the last match Ararat will play VRI and should be too strong at home for the visitors, the Ararat side have been playing on the old fast green which looks to be giving them a big advantage.
Aradale will have the bye.
