The Christmas Lego display will be going up on November 28 - 29 and will be a free to see.
Ararat Rural City Council chief executive Dr Tim Harrison said planning for the Christmas Lego display had been underway for some time.
"A large Christmas Lego display will be coming to town, as well as a range of traditional Christmas decorations to get us in the festive spirit," he said.

Tim and Dannii have also been creating video content, which will be offered to local schools and organisations, showing how they made the display.
People eager to engage with the Lego Masters contestants will also be able to have a meet and greet if COVID-19 safety restrictions allow.
"They have been planning and creating this display for months now. Filming and documenting their process, which will be a great addition to the display," Dr Harrison said.
"It's great that restrictions have eased enough to be confident in announcing this event. I want to ensure our locals that we will still have plenty of health measures in place and are constantly assessing the situation."
Other Christmas decorations will also be going up around the municipality, including the traditional Christmas tree on the corner of Vincent Street and High Street, Ararat.
"Another addition is banner flags along Barkly Street which will debut at Christmas time, but will be used throughout the year for different events," Dr Harrison said.
"Some plans for Christmas are still uncertain as we continue to navigate through the Coronavirus pandemic, however, Ararat Rural City Council is working to keep the festive season alive."
Many townships have also received 3m tall solar-powered Christmas trees, which will be lit in the coming weeks.
