The project commenced on October 5 was expected to be completed of March 2021. However, with works progressing well so far, contractors hope to be finished by Christmas if weather permits.
"The road is looking excellent already and will be an asset to the community when it is completed", said Ararat Rural City Council chief executive Dr Tim Harrison.
"This first section is 8.8km long and will be increased to 6.2m wide, sealed and have improvements in drainage.

The project has been funded by ARCC and the Roads to Recovery Program from the Federal Government, with a budget of $2,841,177.
