Paramedics are preparing to take the pilot involved in this afternoon's light plane crash at Greenbank near Brisbane to hospital.
The Rescue 500 helicopter is at the scene of the crash which happened about 2.30pm.
Paramedics are treating the male pilot and sole occupant of the plane for serious head and chest injuries.
Authorities were unable to confirm the pilot's age or which hospital he would be taken to.
FRIDAY, 2.50pm
Emergency services are at the scene of a light aircraft crash at Greenbank this afternoon.
Four police crews, paramedics and fire officers were called to the crash off Spring Mountain Drive about 2.30pm, Queensland Police said.
Bystanders rushed over to help when they saw the plane go down.
The pilot, the only occupant, is out of the plane, a QPS spokesman said.
A small fire has reportedly broken out at the scene.
