The committee created a draw to minimise the number of teams at any one venue to one side only with the exception of Lake Bolac who have an extra Division Two side.
Bowlers will return to the greens under strict covid guidelines set out from Bowls Victoria working with the Victorian Government.
Division One
Lake Bolac, with their brand new green, will play host to Chalambar.
Lake Bolac were well in the mix last year for a finals position and will be looking to improve this year and make it into the top four.
Chalambar edged their way into the finals last year but were bundled out in the elimination final. Lake Bolac at home should prove to strong.
Landsborough will be at home to a different looking Ararat team, with a few stars missing for Ararat this should even up this match with a close result likely.
OTHER NEWS:
Last year's runner-up Stawell will be at home against Aradale.
Stawell were very unlucky drawing with VRI in the Grand Final only to go down on the sudden death extra end, so they will be looking to get their new season off to a winning start.
Aradale are full of talent and will not be an easy beat. A win should be on the cards for Stawell but an upset would not surprise.
In the last match Stawell Golf at home will play last year's premiers in what should be the match of the round.
Both sides now play on a very similar surface so it will be who can take advantage of the opportunities when they present themselves that wins this match.
Division 2
A reduced number of teams will contest this year's matches - Stawell, Stawell Golf and Ararat now only have one side back from two last year.
Lake Bolac will play with two sides Red and Black with Aradale and VRI making up the remaining positions to have seven sides for the new season - this will mean a Bye is in play for the second division for this season.
In the first match Ararat will be at home against Lake Bolac Red in what looks like a match that should be close with the home side with the favourite.
MORE NEWS:
Aradale will play Stawell at the Aradale home green and should be able to push last year premiers to their limit.
In the last match Ararat VRI will be at home against a Stawell Golf combination with another tight match likely.
Lake Bolac Black will start the season off with a bye.
Good bowling to all and stay safe this season.
