With coronavirus restrictions lifting, board member president Gwenda Allgood said people were eager to get outside and do something.
"People don't want to travel to major centres - whether it be they can't or they don't feel it's safe," she said.
"People are looking for outdoor type activities they can do with their families.
"Just last week there was some beautiful trout caught. They were magnificent.
"We've got a very nice trout lake which is very popular."
Mrs Allgood said she believed the lake was very safe for children to enjoy the water.
"You see children out there in their little canoes and enjoying the water," she said.
"It's a really family-friendly area. We've got a playground and free barbecues.

"There is plenty of areas to spread out and enjoy the surroundings and adhering to the restrictions of social distancing."
Mrs Allgood said she hoped it was going to be a great summer with the lake full of spring rain.
"One of our members who has now sadly passed away used to tell me that when the swans move in and start building their nest that means the water is going to rise to the top," she said.
"I'm watching the swans because they are out there at the moment and hopefully we get a lot more water to fill it.
"It's a great place to go and visit and it's not far from home."
