Lachie Dalkin has put his hand up to lead Pomonal Cricket Club's A Grade team for the 2020-21 season.
The 16-year-old had a great invidivdual performance last season, winning the Grampians Cricket Assocaition A Grade bowling average.
After a few players stepping down from the competition Dalkin has his sight set on recruiting players to compliment the existing team.
"We've had our first training last week," he said.
"We've lost a few players but we're looking to pick up a few as well.
"We want to improve from last year where we finished third.
"We want to make it to that last final, and obviously win."
Dalkin said due to the coronavirus restrictions in place, there had been some extra work involved getting the season together for the club.
"We've been in talks with Northern Grampians Shire Council about what we needed to do to be able to get back into training," he said.
"We're pretty keen to get back to training and I know a few others, myself included are keen to get back into sport especially without football being on this year."
Dalkin said the club were also looking for junior players for the upcoming season.
"We really want to get as many juniors as we can on board in our under-13 side," he said.
"Our vision is to develop them into under-16 players and in the near future be able to field an under-16 team in the competition as well."
Dalkin said any interested players were welcome to contact him directly or via the club's Facebook page.
