The Melbourne Cup will be on show at Seppelt Wines in Great Western on Friday as part of this year's Melbourne Cup Tour.
Each year, the tour celebrates the heroes and stories linked to the 159-year old Melbourne Cup race and its contribution to the nation's heritage.
The Cup will arrive at Seppelt Wines at 1pm, where a luncheon will be held on the lawns on Seppelt Wines and the VRC ambassadors will present the cup.
The cup will be available for public viewing and photographs between 2pm and 4pm at the winery.
As part of the tour, Great Western will also be allocated a barrier for this year's race and chance to win $50,000 for a community iniative.
MAKING NEWS TODAY:
The donation has been committed to a community-supported tanker for the Great Western CFA, should the town draw the winning barrier.
After visiting Great Western, the cup will continue to travel up the highway to the next stop on the tour, Horsham.
The Cup will visit Horsham West Primary School and Wimmera Base Hospital, before sitting trackside for Sunday's Horsham Cup.
