Ararat Criminal Investigation Unit Detective Jason Boyd said the fire was investigated on Sunday.
"The fire was deemed not suspicious," he said.
"The family are just trying to get themselves sorted out after the incident."
EARLIER, SUNDAY 11am:
Emergency services attended a house fire on Saturday evening in King Street Stawell.
Calls for assistance were made at approximately 11.30pm.
Six units attended the scene including Stawell, Great Western, Ararat and breathing apparatus support units from Ballarat.
A CFA spokesperson said there were unknown injuries from the incident.
"A stop was put on the incident at about 11.55pm on Saturday," they said.
"An investigation will commence today into the cause of the fire."
