Ararat College year 12 student Jessica Low has found it easier to participate in remote classes without the distractions of a physical classroom.

"Everyone is different ... but I am doing way better at school. I get distracted easily, so it's better for me to concentrate at home," she said.
Jessica is studying year 12 VCE Art, English, Further Maths, Physical Education and completed Biology last year.
"I want to study to be a veterinary nurse. I love animals and I want a career to do with that," she said.
"I am looking at doing a veterinary course in Bendigo. I don't really want to go to Melbourne because I can't handle the city."

While Jessica has enjoyed studying in a remote environment, she said it had presented some challenges.
"I think its harder to get personal help and having access to teachers," she said.
"Even though you have Zoom classes, you don't have that face-to-face contact to ask questions."
Jessica said she relaxes from school by painting, colouring books and spending time with her animals.
"I have chickens, a lizard, a rabbit and two dogs. To help with my mental health I have been going for walks around Elmhurst," she said.
"I also had my 18th birthday a couple of weeks ago. I had it before lockdown so I had five people over ... it was a good way to celebrate.
"My advice to year 12 students would be to keep studying and keep positive because once you get through, it will be all worth it.
"It doesn't matter if it 's only 20 minutes per day on a subject ... it will all add up."
