With restrictions to sporting events in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, the committee is ensuring if allowed there are options in place. The association will conduct a delegates meeting on September 2 to discuss the possibility of a new season starting.
"We have decided to postpone the AGM until we look into the legalities of how we can hold one in terms of online or has to be in person," president David Turner said.
"We thought, for the time being, it would be easier to stay with the same executive till we ride out this bump and know where we are heading.
"At this stage, we are planning for a normal start of mid-October but with the scenario that more than likely we won't be able to start but we have to start planning for it."
MORE NEWS:
Mr Turner said despite the unknown the executive decided the best way forward was to plan for a season to go ahead.
"Because there has been no sport conducted for some time we know players would be interested in getting out there so we need to be ready if we can go ahead," he said.
"We fully expect we won't be able to start on our proposed date if we continue under the current restrictions and what restrictions could be in place.
"Clubs will get a full update with what the executive has discussed and what the rationale is behind the decisions and possible scenarios."
Mr Turner said there were multiple issues that needed to be looked at, including the format of the draws and two-day matches.

"This could be for the simple reason if someone was to test positive for coronavirus during the week in-between the two days, those two teams will have to miss a fortnight of cricket," he said.
"That would mean those results would have to be a draw because the game couldn't be completed.
"This could mean we only go with one-day games at least for a start.
Mr Turner said Cricket Victoria had supplied an outline of start dates for larger competitions which will filter down to smaller competitions in rural areas.
"Our season of course will be hinged around the AFL Grand Final as well," he said.
"Most players won't want to be playing cricket on that day so we will need to wait for the announcement of that date too."
